Lords of Lounge’s debut album was recorded almost immediately after the band was formed in 2020. Their sound evolved from a spontaneous gig in a hotel lobby during the first COVID-19 lockdowns – and it is precisely this raw energy that characterises the recordings.
Surf-inspired guitars, laid-back grooves and a stripped-back, warm band sound form the foundation for instrumental tracks that balance between easy listening, indie and the joy of improvisation. Everything is recorded during the composing process – no demos, no overdubs, just what emerges in the moment.
Songs like “Please Relax & Enjoy” quickly became staples of their live shows and exemplify the relaxed yet precise band sound of the debut.
LP1 marks the starting point for a band that deliberately keeps its musical language simple – and finds its character precisely in that.
