Both were US Top 200 albums with the singles ‘Hearts’ making the US Top 10 and ‘Atlanta Lady’ a US Top 30 hit
Balin had a long and varied career as one of the founders of Jefferson Airplane, but left in 1971; he joined Starship in 1975, quitting in 1978
After the KBC Band folded, Balin was involved in reunion tours with both Airplane and Starship, as well as pursuing a solo career
