French death metal quartet Misgivings has taken the long road in releasing its debut self-titled full-length album (released June 24, 2022 on Dolorem Records).
Formed in Montigny-sur-Loing, France in 1991, the band released four demos from 1994 to 2006 and a split with Drowning in 2017. “Misgivings” finally gives the band the chance to show the world what it’s made of. At nine tracks with a 35-minute runtime, the album is a short jolt of bludgeoning death metal.
Taking years, even decades (as a few tracks go as far back as their 2001 demo), Misgivings has honed each track to a precision-like composition that slays like a ferocious barbarian with a savagery similar to some of the best old school death metal bands in the tradition of Krisiun, Angelcorpse, Deicide, Ritualization and early-era Morbid Angel.
