Nordjevel - Damnous - Bundle

NORDJEVEL formed in Askim, Norway in 2015 around vocalist Doedsadmiral, drawing straight from Scandinavian black metal's established ranks. Three albums in, the addition of guitarist Destructhor (ex-Morbid Angel, Myrkskog, Zyklon) pushed the band from a melodic, folk-inflected debut toward a denser, death-informed attack.
'Damnous', the band's fourth full-length and first release for Season of Mist Underground Activists, carries Doedsadmiral's lyrics of war, death, anti-Christianity and Norse mythology across a set that moves between blistering black metal, death metal weight and slower, melodic passages sung in both Norwegian and English. Guitars, bass and guest vocals were tracked at Studio Nyhagen with engineer Kjartan Hesthagen, and the album was mixed and mastered at Studio Fredman by Fredrik Nordström, who also handled the band's previous album 'Gnavhòl'. Guest musicians round out the record's atmosphere without diluting its intent, appearing across select tracks including a closing cover.
'Damnous' reads as the most fully assembled statement in a catalogue built from the start on a close reading of Norwegian landscape and folklore.
