When French dark metal act THE OLD DEAD TREE announced their split, it was a reason for mourning among their many dedicated fans. Now it is time to smile again as former members and main contributors Nicolas Chevrollier (guitar) and Vincent Danhier (bass) return with OMMATIDIA. Their new band does not simply continue on the old path, but offers a refreshing blend of Gothic, Doom and Atmospheric Metal. OMMATIDIA’s debut “In This Life, Or The Next” draws inspiration from such classic Gothic Metal acts like PARADISE LOST, KATATONIA and MY DYING BRIDE, but adds their individual modern French touch.
