Hailing from Thionville, France, Palantyr – formerly known as Destrukt until August 2024 – returns with a vengeance, combining three tracks from their previous EP, The Ascent, with three brand-new, scorching anthems of relentless, melody-infused steel. Athena’s commanding voice leads the charge, calling speedfreaks to battle with a dynamic fusion of speed and heavy metal, sharpened with an epic edge. Unlike many bands that look solely to the past, Palantyr dares to push forward, blending the ferocity of Mystik, the epic grandeur of Smoulder, and the raw heavy metal aggression of Blood Star, Tower, and Iron Griffin. The result? A perfect storm of speed, melody, and firepower. But that’s not all – one of the new tracks is a ripping cover of Paul Roland’s Nosferatu, reimagined and reforged into a high-octane speed metal banger, proving Palantyr’s ability to reshape a song into something uniquely their own. Meanwhile, the remaining new tracks showcase the band’s most intense, yet melodically rich material to date, with riffs that drive adrenaline levels through the roof and choruses that demand fists in the air. This release is a double-edged sword – ferocity and melody, velocity and power.
For fans of Mystik, Acid, Smoulder, Blood Star, Iron Griffin, and Tower – this one’s for you!
