PERTURBATOR's sixth and latest album, Age of Aquarius - James Kent's first for acclaimed metal label Nuclear Blast - offers a more propulsive twist on his earlier, morose works, presenting his most confident, beautiful and thematically refined music to date. Whereas his previous album, Lustful Sacraments (2021), dealt with bad habits and addiction, Age of Aquarius explores how individualism, conflict and war are dominant and interdependent societal forces. At once brutal and sublime, the album sounds like the musical equivalent of a cry into the existential void.
