Post-hardcore band Sparta, led by singer/guitarist Jim Ward (formerly of At The Drive-In), has just released their new album, Cut A Silhouette, via Equal Vision Records.
Produced, recorded, and mixed in just seven days at Magpie Cage Recording Studio by J. Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines…), Cut A Silhouette is described as "a collision between past and present." The album continues Sparta's legacy while showcasing the evolution of a band that has never rested on its laurels. Written over the course of a year in hotel rooms, rehearsal spaces, studios, and during soundchecks, Cut A Silhouette reflects Jim Ward's rediscovery of his love for music.
"It's a love record," Ward enthusiastically states. "I want it to leave a mark, and at this stage of my career, that's what I'm looking for. I'm working very hard to create something that makes sense to me, and I truly hope people have the chance to feel it too."
