A true commercial and critical success, "The '59 Sound" (released in 2008) propelled the American band THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM to the forefront of the punk rock scene. Having shared the stage with BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN on multiple occasions, their legitimacy was only further solidified, and despite their youth, their credibility was unquestionable. As unlikely heirs to Springsteen, as well as TOM PETTY, JOE STRUMMER, and even SOCIAL DISTORTION, this quartet made their mark with this album.
