A savage exploration of the Black Death and the darkness it unleashed, The Great Mortality remains one of The Infernal Sea's defining works. Blending relentless second-wave black metal with haunting atmosphere, the album transforms one of history's darkest chapters into a visceral sonic experience. Metal Hammer hailed it as "a high-concept record" with a "disgusting, dirty heart," while Wonderbox Metal praised its "masterfully crafted exemplars of how to do black metal right in 2016," calling it "highly recommended." A bleak, immersive journey through plague, fanaticism, and human depravity, The Great Mortality has become a landmark release in modern UK black metal.
To mark its tenth anniversary, the 10 Years of Misery Edition returns in a deluxe gatefold vinyl package featuring stunning alternative artwork by Richey Beckett, presented in full for the first time, alongside previously unpublished photographs and a new foreword from the band reflecting on the album's legacy.
Every edition also includes a limited double-sided 7" vinyl on Rusty Red/Cream White, featuring the previously unreleased tracks "Apostle of Gehenna" and "Elixir of Death," available on vinyl for the very first time.
