The third installment of the "Runaljod" trilogy, initiated in 2009 with "Gap Var Ginnunga," "Ragnarok" once again showcases the majesty of WARDRUNA. The Norwegian ensemble has mastered the art of sacred and ancestral Scandinavian music, reminiscent of what the Norse gods would have listened to in Valhalla. This third album is even more ethereal, with a richer folk sound in its folk sections and a deeper spiritual presence in its sacred parts. While there are no significant innovations in terms of composition and production, the thoughtful use of timeless instruments offers a mystically captivating experience once again. Continuing the legacy of their previous masterpieces, WARDRUNA delivers with "Ragnarok." A must-listen!
